This peanut butter fudge is something a little different because it uses marshmallow fluff and flour. My mom started making this recipe years ago and it is still a holiday staple at our house. You will find that it is so smooth and creamy that it will melt in your mouth. Also, it is easy to make - which is great for the aspiring candy maker.
Prep/Cook Time: Approx. 25 minutes.
Time it takes to set: Approx. 1 hour, 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
4 c. white sugar
1 c. milk (it has to be at least 2%. Do not use skim milk or heavy cream)
1/2 c. butter, softened (salted is fine)
1 (7 oz.) jar marshmallow creme (preferably the Marshmallow Fluff brand, not a store brand)
12 oz. of creamy peanut butter
2/3 c. all purpose flour
Directions:
1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and set it aside.
2. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, the milk and the butter. With a wooden spoon, stir the ingredients until it comes to a boil.
3. Allow the mixture to boil for 5 minutes. Then immediately remove it from the heat.
4. Carefully fold in the marshmallow creme and the peanut butter until the mixture is well blended.
5. Stir in the flour, a little at a time until all ingredients are completely blended together.
6. Spread the fudge in to the prepared pan, and let it cool for at least 1 1/2 hours before cutting.
