Finding a destination for traveling when you have younger children can be difficult, but it is possible and with a reasonable budget. San Diego, California is a great city with a perfect temperature just about all year round and gorgeous views of the beaches and the ocean. Plus it has some great places to take your children, even the younger ones that can be so hard to find activities to keep them entertained.
The San Diego Zoo is an amazing place for the little ones, and it is fairly economical on the ever decreasing flow of money from the budget. It has a wide range of animals including Amphibians, Birds, Mammals, Reptiles, and Insects with habitats like desert, island, ocean and coastline, prairie, and steppe, river, lake, wetland, savanna, temperate forest, taiga, tropical rain forest, and tundra.
They are open every day (including all major holidays) March 9 through April 3 from 9am to 6pm, and April 4 through March 8 from 9am to 5pm. The Zoo is located at 2920 Zoo Dr. San Diego, California 92112 and their mailing address is P.O. Box 120551 San Diego, California 92112. To contact them by phone, call 1(619) 231-1515, or you can visit them on line at www.sandiegozoo.org.
