Ways to show appreciation

There are many ways to show your appreciation towards someone who has done you a good turn. Appreciation is something which has to come from the heart and not merely for saying "thank you" for a favour, a job well done or any other thing.

Recognition of a good deed done be it in office or at home need not be published for all to see. Appreciation need not be only monetary or a gift. A verbal line of appreciation goes a long way. For instance, "Thanks for a job well done". This speak volumes for the receiver of such appreciation. It gives a boost for the recipient to work more harder and achieve much more, thus bringing in many monetary benefits as well.

I speak from personal experience. Working as a Secretary, I have done good work for my boss, who has always given me a little note which says, "Good Job. Well done. Keep it up" or "Keep the good work up".

Each one of us love to be appreciated. It gives us a sense of belongingness. Appreciation towards a friend could be done in many forms. For instance a little note sent on coloured post it pad paper, could be stuck on the computer monitor of a friend, with a word of appreciation. Animated emails showing appreciation could be sent to friends. A piece of chocolate wrapped in glittering paper could be given to your friends, saying "thanks for being there for me, I really appreciate your patience".

If life revolved around being nice to one another, what a different world this would be. Although it might take ages, lets start within your circle of friends. Begin today to appreciate their friendship, love and understanding. Spread appreciativeness the whole world around.

Always take time to sit and think and take account of those who have gone out of their way to help you or say a word of encouragement to you when you were down. You will find how many of your friends really care for your wellbeing. Call them up and talk to them, tell them how much you appreciate their friendship. You will see that after the call is made, you will be floating on cloud nine.

People love to indulge in food and for example, if a colleague of yours has helped you out on a project, take him or her out to lunch, as a token of your appreciation for the support given. You will see how elated your colleague would be and the end result would be that you are bound to have his or her support in the future as well. Moreoever the friendship between the two persons would be further strengthened.

Always remember that relationships and friendship are the only things you take with you when you leave this world, so, beginning today, thrive on them and be sure to show the people you love and appreciate how much you really care.
