Poetry: The first Christmas

by mommyoftwo

Created on: December 23, 2008

Mary was so tired after the long ride.

Baby Jesus was almost here.

No one had room for them except an innkeeper who had room in his stable.

The hay was scratchy and itchy but nice and warm.

The animals gathered around as Mary and Joseph brought our savior into the world.

I can just imagine his first cry and the joy it brought to Mary.

The sparkle in her eyes and the love swelling her heart.

All the world rejoiced that night.

The first Christmas.
