High schools and the lack of discipline in our education system

I'm not saying that the home lives of our children are never at fault, but we have got to do something about the schools themselves. This is a touchy topic, and there is such a low rate of graduating students. First of all, for all of the hours children and teenagers spend at school, schools should be a descent and comfortable place to learn Even kids with the best opportunities will fair better with a good teacher and a suitable environment at school and especially in the classroom.

What schools need is a lot of work. Teachers do get frustrated with students, especially when a child is refusing to learn. That is understandable -and the frustration of teachers receiving children ill-prepared by parents is certainly underestimated - but what is less understandable is when students do get to high school and can barely read. I'm not saying that teachers don't try. We do live in a busy world. Many teachers juggle a busy home life and face many obstacles, but they should still be responsible for teaching kids. Should it be that a teacher is not fully up to the task of teaching-one of the most important tasks granted by God and certainly one of the most concerned aspects of parenthood-the teacher should relieve him/herself from the sacred duty and seek out another profession for his or her own sake, but especially for the sake of that tender, impressionable mind entrusted to him or her. The problems within the school system can be improved with help from parents, teachers, and an improved school system.

Parents
All families are not alike. Some children come from wonderful homes, with parents who have plenty of time to teach them. Some are not so fortunate, and some are horrible as it is taught by their own parents not to learn. Learning is something to be encouraged in girls and boys alike.

However, if a parent can begin early on to teach a child how important education is, then that can instill a desire to learn in the child. All the preparation in the world will not help if the child has a teacher who does not try at his or her job. Children are in school for eight hours per day, five days per week, and school is the biggest part of their week. For the child's well-being, of course, learning should take place during that time taught by a true professional who has it in his or her heart to do the very best job possible in furthering the education of every child in the classroom. No pass here: Parents should keep up with their child's progress and make sure they are
