Have you ever wanted a little extra edge killing those enemies on your favorite game? This a very inexpensive way that only takes about an hour to accomplish. I will tell you by steps on how to make this happen. Do not use the modded wireless controller on Xbox Live because you will get banned for a length of time, or even have you subscription cancelled. You can purchase one of the mod kits from the internet. The kit will come with two small buttons, wires, and chip. I recommend buying the preassembled kit (less soldering). Doing the mod will void your warranty on the controller, so choose if that is acceptable to you.
There are several tools that will be needed. You will need a Torx T8 security driver, a 15w/30w soldering iron, rosin core solder, wire strippers, wire cutters, hot glue gun, 3/16 and 1/4 drill bits, needle nose pliers, and a exacto knife.
Step one, first you need to find out if you have the new or old style wireless controller. Take off the battery pack off the back and look at the circuit board at the bottom. If you see the letters J7 on the right side towards the middle then you have the newer style controller, if not then you have the old style. Now that you know what style wireless controller you have. Take the exacto knife and cut the screw hole out that is behind the battery where the serial number is. Take the drill bit and drill the seven screw holes, but don't bottom out the bit. Take the Torx 8 driver and take the screws out. The wireless controller should be facing down, and now it will come apart.
Step two, remove the circuit board and lay it on the table with plenty of space around it. This is where you will have to refer back to your kit. Your kit will tell you what wires need to be cut and to what size. These are very small wires and brake, and snap easily, so be careful when stripping the wire. You might have to install jumpers (which look like staples on the mod chip) at this point. The jumpers are only needed on the newer style wireless controller.
Step three, solder the wires where your kit advises you to. These are very small areas and need your full attention. Take the solder and place the solder approximately a fourth the way up from the tip of the soldering iron. This should give you a little blob on the soldering iron. With the blob barely touch it to the contact spot as advised from the kit. If to much solder gets on contact spot touch the solder iron back on that spot and use the exacto knife to clean your mistake, but
