Why people cheat

Why do people cheat? I will completely break this down for you, so that you can understand the actual mentality. Cheating on your partner has absolutely no connection to your relationship with the creator, temptation, or your morals, first of all. Each and every one of us is hardwired the exact same way when it comes to the mindset of happiness and satisfaction in a relationship, regardless of any other fact in your own personal life. There are several reasons why people cheat on their partners in a relationship. The absolute only way a person will NOT cheat in a relationship is if they are completely satisfied and happy within every facet of the relationship.

Most people have a constant misconception that cheating in a relationship is directly connected to sex. The truth is sex is only a minor and insignificant reason that people cheat on their partners in a relationship. Cheating is an act that is described as, spending time with another person outside of your current relationship in an intimate manner.

With this fact in mind, cheating can be described as a multitude of different things; however, for the reason behind cheating, people must look deeper into the relationship. Most of the time, people who cheat are unhappy only with certain aspects of their relationship. These aspects can range from feeling unappreciated to lack of communication, or even decreased intimate desire, or lack of quality time. Of course, every now and then you may have your typical sex addict, but that is rare in a relationship.

Because most people, who cheat, may only be discontent with a certain aspect of their relationship, they will choose to search for that particular aspect in another person while continuing in their current relationship, rather than just ending the relationship as a whole loss. We are all programmed to search for fulfillment whenever we are lacking in specific areas of our lives, therefore, this is an honest natural reaction. That does not, in any way, excuse it; however, we should all work harder to satisfy our partners in EVERY facet of our relationships.

Once we begin lacking satisfaction, or happiness, in a relationship, we will begin to look for ways to fill the void or correct the problem. If we can not rectify the problem with our partner, we will begin to look for someone that can meet our level of satisfaction in whatever aspect it is that we are currently lacking.

Unfortunately, many people turn to cheating before they even think to try to fix the problem within their current relationship. In conclusion, my personal advice would be to strengthen your and your partner's communication level in order to keep things in check, per se. The more open you are, and willing to talk about things, with your partner, the easier, and less destructive, it will be to catch and fix problems within your relationship. Remember, a relationship is not a 50/50 type of situation, it requires that both parties give 100 percent, all the time, in order to be successful.
