Seldom is it the intention of any bona fide, serious critic to personally insult a writer, or denigrate, humiliate, or render ineffective the works of a writer if personal issues are professionally and properly left aside. A seemingly harsh critique or challenge to a writer's work may prove to be totally constructive, or, even more importantly, seek an expansion of the mind behind the works. Constructive critiques may prove to be essential to your success.
Rather than blindly critiquing a critic, It may be best to consider that a detailed, accurate, and honest 'critique' in itself is not necessarily a bad thing or criticism in the true sense of the word. The net effect of any critique, whether it be negative, positive, or wilfully destructive, remains only in the realm, mind and perception of the writer.
Although a writer may not directly realize it at the time, a critic is often the best ally of the writer in that he or she forces the writer to evaluate his or her own work constantly, encouraging the analysis, method, validity, and conviction placed behind the words.
