Is Resident Evil 5 racist?

If Resident Evil 5 is racist, then we might as well apply that same logic to the Call of Duty games because we shoot the people of specific countries. Why don't we go one step further and say any game where we shoot someone is racist or rather, throwing out hate against whoever it is that we're shooting when we play a particular game? Heck, games where we shoot aliens might as well be racist against the beings of our universe on different planets that we have yet to meet, if we ever do. Why don't we take it yet another step further and say movies, like war ones, are racist? Or we could just not take any of the steps I described at all and accept the fact that it's not racist. Racist and racism isn't a word you throw around lightly either. What it boils down to is that people need something to complain about (not all mind you) and will pick the stupidest things without caring how it sounds to rational people.

Below, I will examine why it isn't racist and keep in mind Resident Evil 5 is just a game:

The game is well known for not being realistic, in the sense that you don't fight real people or rather you do, yet they're either zombified, mutants/monsters or infected by some strange parasite/creature. Neither of these things exist in real life.

Now lets look at what you kill in Resident Evil 5 if the fourth game is anything to go by and it is based on reports. Those being that the storyline is sort of continued and that you fight the same kind of foes due to that.

You do fight African people in the game, but can they even be described as such? By my estimation, they can't be. They're infected by parasites if it's the same as Resident Evil 4 and in the previous game, the Spanish that you fought would have their heads explode, with the parasite that controlled them emerging from their neck like some towering second head. Now if Resident Evil 5 is the same, would you still say its racist and that they're we're even killing Africans? It's pretty ludicrous to suggest it is racist. Plus, as mentioned, it's a game and it isn't meant to be taken seriously. If you want to start saying it's racist, then we might as well cut all violence from games and heck, we might as well not make them anymore or even make films.

I will give the people something to chew on also who think it's racist. Does being racist, by definition, imply that someone or something is totally against the specific race that is being in a less than favourable light? Or for that matter, treated badly? If it does, then you can answer one simple question: why is an African woman that aids the character you play as shown in a favourable light? If the game is racist, why does that character even exist? Because surely, if it wanted to show all Africans in a bad light, then there can't be any good ones. And this is denying the fact that the Africans you kill aren't even in control of their actions because they're infected/being controlled by something.

So no, Resident Evil 5 isn't racist and someone needs to be reaching quite far for something to complain about to even imply it is.
