Posted on a sign in the curve of Life's road.
Dear Self, (A.K.A Ego)
If you are reading this sign than sadly, we have broken through the guardrails of life, and are now hanging perilously over the edge of a deep ravine. We know you are scared, we can feel your heart racing and our own thoughts are incoherent. Through the darkness, you can barely make out this sign; you know it is important that you read it. This could determine whether we make it through this or not. Friendly advice now is the time to just sit back and listen, and breathe.
We would like to point out some things to you, as we see that we might still have time left. We caution you to not look back! That's why we are here in the first place. Down below us is rock bottom. We have three options here, we can choose to just give up now and jump, wait until life's winds pushes us over the edge, or bow our head and pray.
We suggested you not to take the self-pity route; you went ahead and took that road yesterday. That's the road just off from the "It's all about me" route, we cringed in fear of. The second you turn onto it, we could feel your self-doubt shaking the whole of our foundation. Don't you think it's time to give up trying to take control of our life and give it to a higher power? Well, we do, and that's why you are hanging here grasping at these options.
For now, you need to stop your wheels from spinning. You aren't going to test fate again, until one of those three options decides it. The wind is coming in strong, and we see you are getting tired of hanging on to dear life. Take a deep breath and clear your head. We'd strongly suggest you give in to the power of prayer.
"Our Father who are in heaven." The straight and narrow path you took us leave of, granted was an uphill daily battle. Instead of traveling it, you saw a side road that seemed like a good short cut to take. "Hallow be thy name" You've taken many shortcuts throughout our life. You have put us at the mercy of that road, not being able to do anything but look back over your shoulders to see the world chasing us down, and looking desperately ahead to keep from losing all control. "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.." Place your faith back in the Lord.
This is just one of the many signs you will unfortunately be seeing in the course of our lifetime. They are just merely road markers. You need to get your driver's manual out, it's under the seat, yes, that's it, The Bible. Life is a road test for eternity, the Bible is your atlas, read it, follow it, and keep your eyes on the road. We would love dearly to make it to that big rest stop in the sky.
Sincerely,
Me and I
