Short stories: Fairy tales

Created on: December 22, 2008

There once was three little fairies who lived in a faraway place that was very cold and dreary. The land where they lived was cold and snowy every day of the year. There would never be a day where the sun would warm the land so the plants could grow and the little fairies could fly. Since the air is so cold their wings do not function properly. As soon as they step out into the cold brisk air their wings freeze up and won't even flutter. In order for the fairies to gather the supplies that they need they call on their friends the blue jays. There is one in particular that they have gotten to know quite well and has helped them with their many travels. There is one time in particular that the fairies and the blue jay has talked about on many occasions. That was when the fairies needed to go and get more fairy dust so they can stay warm and cheerful throughout these dreary days.

The three fairies who were Serene, Vaneese, and Vi called on their friend the blue jay whom is known to them as Jack. They call him with a special whistle that only there friend can hear. The fairies climbed on Jack and told him where they needed to go. They needed to go to the endless forest to get more fairy dust. Jack was very scared because the last time he took them there the trees came alive and got so angry because he was trespassing onto their land that the trees tried to knock him down. Jack barely made it out of the endless forest. Jack was not sure if he was up to the task. He told the fairies that he was very frightened and did not know if could make it through. The fairies devised a plan. Serene thought that they could just fly over the top of the forest. Vaneese reminded her that the trees limbs are able to stretch to great lengths and just pull them down anyway. Vi then came up with the idea of making Jack invisible. In order to be able to do that the fairies would have to use up the last of the fairy dust that they have in order to get there. The fairies all agreed that was the best idea. Since the fairies could naturally make themselves invisible they only needed to make Jack invisible. All three fairies got the rest of the fairy dust that they had and sprinkled it onto Jack. Jack then became invisible to everything. Jack felt very free and alive not that he did not feel that way before but now it is more of an excitement. The fairies and Jack started on their way. About half way through the forest Jack was not feeling right. He thought that the trees were starting to notice that something was amongst them. But before they could get to the place where the fairy dust was Jack's fairy dust was starting to wear off. He was now fearing for not only his life but the lives of the fairies he was carrying. The trees starting swooping and swatting at them. Jack was able to dodge every swat. Jack was such a wonderful flier. The fairies finally reached their final destination. Fairyland which a place where all fairies come to gather the supplies that they need for survival in their home land. Only fairies who have earned their way through all the courses and training can live in Fairyland. The training takes many years to complete. By the time you are able to live in Fairyland you are considered a wise fairy. But until that time you are only to come and train and gather your supplies. The elders in Fairyland are the ones who decide who lives where not the parents of the fairies. That way the fairies will gain the knowledge that they need in order to be a sweet and caring fairy that they should be. Now that the fairies have there fairy dust they can now put more dust on Jack so that he is able to take them back safely to their home on the other side of the endless forest.
