Had I been told 10 years ago that I would be here telling you my story on how I received The grace of the Lord of this Earth through His son, Jesus Christ, I would have laughed. You see I was born and raised in a Muslim family. My father was born a Muslim in Pakistan and moved to the United States to go to college. My mother was raised in a Catholic household and converted to Islam to marry my father. For almost 16 years I practiced the religion of Islam. Even as a small child I knew that there was something missing, I had all the right pieces to the wrong puzzle. My enthusiasm within the religion of Islam was wavering, things just didn't fit. My parents were strong in their beliefs and believed in their hearts Islam was the final religion and none was superior. I assumed I was just missing something. So I dug in deeper, prayed harder and studied like there was no tomorrow. Little did I know that I was just trying to fill a God shaped hole with the wrong puzzle pieces.
Now let's stop right there. What does a God shaped hole look like? Let me paint a picture for you. As a child I had a toy it was a little table with several different holes cut in shapes and along with it came the pieces to these holes. Now if you remember what I am talking about you knew how frustrating it was to lose one of these pieces. You would look under your bed, in the couch, in your mother's closet. Anywhere and everywhere so you can complete your puzzle. Now, take this puzzle and apply it to life. Every heart has a hole in it with only one piece big enough to fill it. It has been so aptly named " a God shaped hole." People try to fill this hole with several things, money, sex, drugs, women, men, the list goes on. The hole seems to get bigger and bigger the more you seem to fill it with, but you never seem to fill this hole with anything but God. Now my problem was that I was born with a pentagon piece and given a square hole. I knew deep down inside that this piece would never fit, but I kept trying. I cut it up, I added sides to it, I tried everything and still this piece would not fit. Islam was just lacking something; I just had to find the courage to look for it.
In my senior year of high school, I took a leap of faith that lead to my commitment to Jesus Christ. I met a very bright young lady that introduced me to my square piece, and although I was four years older than her something drew me toward her. I began talking to her and soon we became friends. She told me that she believed
