As a country, the land of the free has long been ready for a 3rd party. Even today, many Americans will regretfully speak of their lack of voting options.

The problem is that people want to vote for 'a winner'. In their commitment to choosing 'the lesser of two evils' Americans have brought this dilemma upon themselves, propping up a 2-party system where both parties make it a point to radically differ on every conceivable issue - even when it means being obviously wrong.

A host of smaller parties exist, largest of which are the Libertarian Party, Green Party, and Constitution Party - of which I myself once considered myself part of. Nevertheless, and unbenownst to many, there is yet another 3rd party growing rapidly in power and prestige, eclipsing all of these smaller parties. The name?

Democrats For Life of America.

The name says it all. Though supposedly a subgroup of the Democrat party, they differ with their own party's platform, in opposing abortion rights. However, unlike the two major parties, they expand this uniquely in un-hypocritically opposing not just abortion and embryonic stem cell research, but also euthanasia and the death penalty.

Democrats For Life of America also considers 'pro-life' to mean supporting the rights of the born as well, and staunchly opposes human trafficking and poverty while supporting universal health care. In all other ways Democrat, Democrats for Life of America walk the line that many Americans long for, in marrying the conservative moral stances of the Republican party with the liberal economic stances of the Democrat party.

However, Democrats For Life of America is no pipedream. They are attracting enough supporters that NARAL Pro-Choice of America president Nancy Keenan wrote in a 2007 email to supporters of her concern about Democrats For Life of America, proclaiming it as a threat to the Democrat party's pro-choice platform. Established in 1999, Democrats For Life of America has chapters in all but 9 states.

Nor is there any shortage of pro-life Democrats for Democrats For Life of America to endorse. This past 2008 election, Democrats For Life of America endorsed Ronnie Musgrove of Missouri for the U.S. Senate, and for the U.S. House of Representatives, Bobby Bright (AL-02), Parker Griffith (AL-05), Doug Heckman (GA-07), Mike Montagano (IN-03), David Boswell (KY-02), John Milkovich (LA-04), Don Cazayoux (LA-06), Joseph Larkin (MI-11), Travis Childers (MS-01), Jim Esch (NE-02), Steve Driehaus (OH-01), Bill O'Neill (OH-14),
