Poetry: Twilight

Something about Twilight

Something about walking in twilight

Lends itself to quiet contemplation of the night

In the cold, a begging for silent warmth

Hands tucked into sleeves, making a

desperate mantra in hope for shelter

from wind chill.

Something about wind chill

Lends itself to a wandering will,

distractions of the mind across roads

through leafless trees to coasts

where contented waves once crashed at bare feet.

Something about bare feet

Lends itself to freedom from omnipresent heat

humidity and a weary mind

that remembers to remember the

grace of sunlight on a tanned face -

Something worth reflecting on for warmth

when walking in late fall at twilight.
