Certainly, the health of a river can affect the vitality of a region. Water is the sole resource for a river, and it will carry diseases or germs throughout its journey. Rivers can help the land become richer since it carries nutrients from the fishes living in it. The regions that a river passes through will have a more successful and wealthy soil and vegetation due to the nutrients in the river.

1) Rivers help the animals to prosper, which in turns leave the land richer since they fertilize the grass with their after-products.

All kinds of animals will have a greater chance at living in a environment that is richer with plants and water compared to a desert biome. Thanks to the rich nutrient carried by the river will lead to more food and shelter for the animals. The diversity of animals will be greater. If the river has dried up or polluted, then the animals will die since the amount of food available will be greatly diminished. Animals need water to survive so they will die without it. Incidentally, herbivores also need plants and vegetation to prosper, but the plants will die if the nutrient of the soil and the water is polluted or gone. In other words, since the water is gone or damaged then the animals will disappear and the land will lose all of its richness and potential for that region.

2) Rivers are a great factor for the prosperity of plant life which will make the region healthy and beautiful as well.

Beautiful flowers are things that everyone would love to see. Rivers help the plants populate since rivers can carry their seeds then plant them in the river beds. Rare species of flowers that need high level of soil and water minerals can be kept alive naturally if the river was healthy as well. Additionally, plants provide oxygen as a waste product from their photosynthesis, which will helps the animals survive. The more plants, the higher the oxygen level, which will lead to a greater diversity of animal life.

All in all, if the river is polluted then the environment will be in ruins as well. Plants will die as they take in the poisonous and polluted water, then the animals will die from either the poison or hunger. Incidentally, animals that drink the water will also be poisoned, which will eventually lead to the death of all the animals. Moreover, if the animals eat the sick or dead animals, then they will catch that disease or poison too. Thus, the disease can and will spread throughout that region infecting everything it touches or just near it.

Additionally, plants will be dried up and the land will become a desert if the river dries up. The animals that were once suited for a better environment filled of greater diversity of food such as fruits or meat will die from the greatly diminished amount of food due to the bad conditions of the environment caused by the draught. That land will only be filled with sand since there are barely any life left due to the draught. Water is a crucial thing to all living creatures and life can never survive nor exist without it.
