MS. ABIGAIL HUGHES- Daughter of Ms. Josephine Hughes, fiancE to MR. DANIEL FITZGERALD; Graduate student at Harvard School of Law. Curly brown hair, big brown eyes. Has a taste for the finer things in life. As we come to find out, appearances are only half of the story.

MR. DANIEL FITZGERALD- Fiance to MS. ABIGAIL HUGHES; Also a graduate student at Harvard School of Business in Massachusetts. Born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, his prepatory school mannerisms and choice of apparel have followed him into adulthood.

GPS LADY-ever the chipper one, she guides ABIGAIL and DANIEL to wherever they need be.

MS JOSEPHINE HUGHES-Mother to Ms. ABIGAIL HUGHES; Lives in Southern, Georgia. She has simple needs, and is sentimental.

Settings: Daniel's Mercedes, winding road in Georgia. Pittman's Trailer Park, Waycross, Georgia.

INT-DAN'S MERCEDES, DAY.

[Several days before Christmas. Abby and Dan are making the trip back to her hometown so that he can finally meet her mother. It is a trip that Abigail is having second thoughts about making; Not necessarily because of the journey in itself, a thousand mile one from Boston, Massachusetts to Waycross, Georgia, but because of the companionship that was in tow. Recently engaged, Abigail anxiously flips through a magazine as her fiance, one Mr. Daniel Fitzgerald, drives leisurely, taking the time to gaze out the window at a rustic silo or cotton field. It was all new to him, after all. As she slips off into thought, her fears get the better of her.]

FLASHBACK #1: INT-ABIGAIL'S APARTMENT, DAY.

[Abby sits in her living room, talking on the phone with her mother.]

MS. HUGHES: You should bring Dan home with you for spring break.

ABBY: He already has plans with his family, mom.

FLASHBACK #2: EXT-MS. HUGHES' TRAILER, DAY.

[It's summer in the south. Abby and her mom are sitting in white lawn chairs on the crowded front porch of the sun-yellow trailer, sweet teas in hand.]

MS. HUGHES: Why don't you invite Dan down, instead of flyin' back up to Boston every other week?

ABBY: He's working on his internship, and only gets Sundays off.

FLASHBACK #3: INT-DANIEL'S PARENT'S DINING ROOM, EVENING.

[It's Thanksgiving. The large family sits around the large dinner table, stuffed and enjoying free-flowing conversation and merlot.]

DAN: (tipsily) So. You've met my folks now.

ABBY: Mhhm. I have. And they're lovely, just like you.

DAN: So, when do I get to be dragged kicking and screaming to meet yours?

PRESENT-INT-DANIEL'S BLACK MERCEDES, DAY.
