Today's World At A Quick Glance

Have you ever noticed on TV how many lawyers and doctors advertise?It absolutely fills the screens all the time. Every 8 minutes or so a lawyer has picked out a subject or drug and wants you to sue. Are they really that hard up for business? Evidently they are because the ads aren't cheap by any means. Our judicial system is full of meaningless law suits, taking up precious time in the courts. The plaintiff and lawyer looking to make a quick score off some company or another individual. Doctors advertising their services or promoting some pill or inhaler they get a kick back on from the drug company.Whoever got this bill passed for the doctors and lawyers was well rewarded, I'm sure. Where or does it ever end? Our country has fallen in the dumpster over the years and all anyone is concerned about is the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.

Corrupt politicians are the biggest headache. They are everywhere and got elected through favors and corrupt campaigns. Look at the poor state of Illinois, they just had another governor bite the bullet. He joins Kerner and Ryan. Yet, people continue to elect these people from the Chicago area all the time. The governor lives and stays in his house in Chicago, why does Illinois even have a Governor's Mansion? Just the servants and other hired help stay there, the governor never does. That's a taxpayer albatross.Illinois is probably the only state that has their govenor's making their own license plates.

You can no longer advertise cigarettes, but, we have the doctors and lawyers taking up the slack. States pass no smoking laws and then don't have anyone to enforce them. I honestly believe who ever got the bill passed for the doctors and lawyers to publicly advertise is enjoying his new found wealth in the tropics somewhere. What a deal that must have been. The poor ole working man or woman just can't catch a break because the higher ups are getting million dollar bonuses and then going to our government to get a bail-out. Really makes sense, right? If we let the tobacco companies advertise nationally, at least NASCAR could have some sponsors, Ha-Ha.

All kidding aside this country is going down the tubes real fast and our children are going to be stuck with trying to right the ship that we should have been working on. We let our elected officials get out of hand years ago and it has progressively gotten worse. Why did we let the politicians vote themselves a raise? Because we didn't care or was that a favor from down the line somewhere? Maybe when there are no jobs in the U.S., someone will take notice and do something. Then again, it's hard to find the time to do anything in this rush rush world anymore. Women can't and won't cook, our kids get fat from fast food, Mom and Dad already are fat from fast food. Look around and see how many families cook at home. You would be surprised. You don't have to wonder why fast food places are every block and at least 2 in every strip mall.

Maybe one day the GOOD fairy will come along, wave the wand and fix everything. Then again we'll probably just wait for someone else to start fixing our wrongs!
