Penny the penguin is on her way to the ancestral fishing grounds and it's your job to get her there!
Guide Penny through ice fields with help from her friend Paul the polar bear who, with his satellite tracking system and headset, can offer help and information on what to expect in each level and how to navigate through or around the obstacles.
Using your up, down, left and right arrow keys you must guide penny as she slips and slides across the screen manoeuvring her from the starting point to the exit sign on each maze-based level.
Sounds simple enough but since Penny is a penguin she has difficulty stopping. Once she is moving she can only stop and change direction by sliding into a boulder or patch of grass. I know, grass in the Antarctic, whoever would have thought it?! Paul says it's all due to global warming.
Obstacles ranging from conveyor belts and turntables to crates will either help or hinder your progress to the exit sign. It's very easy to send poor Penny round in circles on the conveyer belts if you don't get the switches pointing the correct way before she gets on!
In the challenge mode version of the game you can skip the storyline and dialog between Penny and Paul and get stuck in with moving Penny to the exit sign using only a certain number of moves. This is where you need to plan ahead and think before you move!
Penny and Paul's adventure is a simple yet cute puzzle game with a retro look and feel. If you want action, adventure and beautiful graphics this is not the game for you. But if you like the kind of two dimensional cartoon puzzle games that came out 10years ago you will enjoy this.
The game is fun and addictive with each level more challenging than before. It's a great game for kids to play, no shooting or violence, just strong, fun characters. The whole family will want to have a go at manoeuvring Penny around the Arctic and are sure to laugh at some of the things Paul says with his references to global warning and large corporations.
However, saying all of this, I would not buy the game. You can play similar style maze puzzle games online for free... Why spend money when you don't have to?
