Dressing to look 10 years younger

Dressing to look ten years younger is as much about what you shouldn't wear as it is about the clothing style suitable to adopt. If you feel you could do with losing a few years appearance wise, the chances are your wardrobes contents need an over-haul. This article takes a look at what to avoid, and what you can successfully wear in its place to knock years off your appearance.

Saggy and Baggy.

Saggy and baggy are not friends of anyone over the age of twenty. In fact clothing which has excess material that flops around your body, or hides your natural form completely can add excess weight and years to you.

Some of the worse offenders are over-size jumpers, sweat pants and pinafore dresses which give a tent like structure to the wearers form. Many people wear such clothes imagining they hide a less than perfect figure, when the truth is that what lays underneath the clothes is pretty much always superior in appearance to the big illusion that is created by the clothes themselves.

If you want to shed years get rid of saggy and baggy clothes and you will already have made a huge improvement.

Instead of over-size clothes stick to wearing clothing which fit you. Figure hugging clothes can also be aging so stay clear of these. Aim for clothing that loosely skims your figure and allows your real shape to be recognised. Only choose clothes in your size, and if necessary have someone else measure you so you are sure what your size actually is.

Smart jeans in a dark colour are an instant youth tonic. By wearing a style of jeans which suit your figure you will create an air of energy, as opposed to aging doldrums. As a basic rule jeans should be long enough so they cover the tops of shoes, any shorter and the youthfulness of jeans will be lost. They should also not be too low at the waistband on a person who is above middle age.

Skinny and Mini.

Skinny and mini may have been friends of yours in the sixties, but now they belong to thin, younger folks who didn't witness them the first time around. Clothing which is figure hugging doesn't suit an ample sized body. Nor does it look great on a wonderful body that has a more mature face to go with it. The effect is liable to bring with it the well known phrase, 'mutton dressed as lamb.'

It is far less aging to opt for clothing which flatters your shape and doesn't make you look like you are trying too hard. Clothing with an air of desperation detracts from confidence. What you wear should always make you feel good, rather
