"Book of Legends" is a game developed by Banzai and published by GoGii Games. It is a role playing game in which you, the player, are a young researcher named, Zoe who discovers this ancient book with mysterious clues that lead her from one place to another. Zoe, along with her brother Charleston who remains available via cell phone, helps Zoe solve each clue. There are side missions along the way that allow the player to earn extra money to purchase various items such as plane tickets so that she may follow certain clues to different countries.
The graphics aren't too great and there is very little animation or movement for that matter. The game is mostly made up of still scenes in which the player is given the opportunity to search for particular items off a list. Once an item is found, the player simply clicks it and it is removed from the list. These items are hidden well within the background and can be fairly difficult to find at times, but there is a hint button that can assist a player who is finding it difficult to find certain things. The music and sound is mediocre at best. There won't be any dark ominous tones or orchestras playing in the background, but the music does suit the graphics as this game isn't on a larger scale of PC games like "The Sims" for example or "World of Warcraft".
Although this game lacks the incredible graphics or the high quality music that many gamers of the present time are used to, the game makes up for that in it's creativity and innovation. The game is simple and straightforward. It isn't complicated in the slightest. The puzzles are easy, for the most part, but there are some puzzles where it gets very difficult to find objects hidden in the background. The creativity behind some of the puzzles are also quite brilliant. For example, one puzzle uses the Washington Monument as a large sun dial which then leads the gamer to another clue. There are many puzzles similar to this in the game which makes for a very interesting and exciting time.
Overall, I would rate "Book of Legends" a 3/5. This game is perfect for young adults or perhaps older children as it is simple to understand and for the most part, the gamer is only required to read clues, look for items in the background and then click what they find. This game can be downloaded online and if you enjoy the trial, it can easily be purchased for $19.99.
I thouroughly enjoyed playing the game even though the graphics or music weren't the best. It was still fun and it never got boring.
Download the game and see for yourself! Most of all, enjoy and have fun!
