A translucent government sounds good, but is it what America really wants? No, doubt the media would love it. Always a controversy of some sorts would be taking place, invigorating new material for their publication in print, or fabric for television news programs.
What would this mean for the incoming administration to be 100% transparent? Would it involve opening the past to the public, in order to proceeded with the future? Reviewing closed records, an exhilarating possibility. Think about past government secrets, that have caused so much intrigue. Records, of the United States visited by aliens, which the media and the citizens of America, are certain exist, but not available for public view. The controversy would be put to rest once and for all. Speculation as of yet, are the escapades of past presidents, and the dealings of their cabinets, inside the Untied States and abroad. History, might need to be rewritten, were the truth to be known. Is America ready to have her past reviled in such a manor?
Today, is it our right to know everything our government did and is doing and will be involved in? Pertaining to this subject, does the President-elect mean 100% disclosure, or more then we have become accustom to? I sense what he means, and what the media and the general public think, differ.
He and has administration, will not function in an efficient manner if under a microscope! Our national security would be threatened! Secret service- could it even exist? I think we have placed our future leader in a precarious situation. His use of this term and holding him true to his words, by using, Webster's interruption of it, not a practical expectation.
Keeping the people abreast of current happenings, on a regular basis would be a wonderful start, for the general public understanding our government better. I believe with his regular weekly visit on the Internet, is a great start. The net could become a great tool in linking the happenings at the White House, with folks across America!
Honesty, is what we have a right to demand from our government! Situations that face America, at times, to know everything would cause a threat to our shores. Possibly put those in our military in harms way, should the government tell all that it is doing and how it's doing it. We could be told, when the time is appropriate, the nation will be informed.
We elected a man, we trust to have the best interest of America, in every decision he makes. The president elect, has chosen to surround himself with the best and brightest, to share their views on issues confronting our country. American citizens, demanding all actions taken by our government, be done in a truthful, respectable manner, representing America at her best, at home and abroad, is a reasonable expectation! Actions implemented from this new administration, upholding our constitution and all it implies, represents the transparency in government, Americans seek. Presdident-elect Obama's pledge would be fulfilled.
