attacks that cannot be used at will.
Other than that, you have full usage of the material. But there is a new system that is implemented in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. This is called the "DMW" or "Digital Mind Wave" which is similar to an electronic slot machine. If you have soldier points or "SP," the slots continue to spin. In a sense, it is like a slot machine that never stops. They all rotate independently.

A power-up is awarded if the same character and values line up. Also, it is through the DMW that Zack is able to use special attacks and summons. To get the needed images, the player must progress through the story. By meeting certain characters, images will then be added to the DMW. Each character grants Zack a special ability. For example, if all three images were of Aerith, Zack would be able to heal himself. At times, the image reels will change to that of summons. From there, Zack will be able to summon a creature to attack his enemies.

You have the ability to customize your Materia. There are some Materia that allows you extra commands. You also have the ability to fuse Materia together. You can make Materia stronger through the fusing ability.
Or, you can make a completely new type of Materia.

The DMW system is a fresh and original concept to the Final Fantasy VII series. Its effects are random. In a sense, it is like a box of chocolates: you will never know what you are going to get. The graphics do look more realistic and highly fantastic. If you enjoy the Final Fantasy VII games, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is definitely one game that you need to get.

There is also plenty of replay value present in the game. When you complete the game, you have the option of starting the "New Game+" in which you carry over your current level, SP, experience, gil, Materia, basic items, DMW completion rate, and playtime. It lets you breeze through the game again; but, there is the added difficulty present.

You can breeze through the storyline; but, there are plenty of missions and side-quests you have the option to participate in. Doing so will get you extra points, items, Materia, and gil. If you want your money's worth, you should do the missions and side-quests. If you have a Sony Playstation Portable and you like role-playing games, you should get yourself a copy of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.

The music was superb.
Crisis Core did a good job of remixing the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack. The graphics were great. The storyline served as a great prequel to Final Fantasy VII. Overall, everything about Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII was fantastic.
