all businesses who pay executives more than that amount do the same by requiring any publicly traded company to post all executive compensation. As promised, I intend to decrease taxes to 95% of Americans, provide a jobs package that will rebuild our infrastructure, and bring health care to all Americans, but how can this be accomplished?
As I speak, websites are being developed to provide the transparency in government the people desire. Findajob.gov will list projects as they come available, what the jobs requirements are, what each job category pays, and how to apply for the job. Hardtruth.gov will provide public access to the federal budget; info on the executive compensation rates; list companies who ship jobs overseas; and companies currently in litigation over human rights abuses or environmental pollution issues. This website will also provide access to declassified information regarding C.I.A. projects, failures of the F.B.I., and a list of each war since WWI and what the top 25 government contractors were paid in each. This project is to educate the public so that we can admit and learn from our mistakes and hopefully prevent such abuses from happening again. To survive as a nation we have to eliminate the waste in government contracts, develop a fairer tax system, and provide a means for every citizen to believe in the American dream.
I know it won't be easy, but going line by line I will examine the budget and American's will no longer pay more than a fair market value for any contracted goods or services. Limitations will be placed upon the contractor(s) to prevent excessive personal or corporate compensation.
I will be asking all American's to contribute to our nation's future, starting with myself. I will return 25% of my yearly salary to Treasury and ask that members of Congress voluntarily reduce their own by at least 10% to establish that we are all in this together.
These are difficult times and solutions are not easy. However, each and every American must contribute. Start today by examining your home for more energy efficiency, just as I will do in the White House. Recycle everything you can, ride share or take public transportation. As you work on ways to conserve energy and resources, I will be putting American's to work. The stimulus package will include: the completion of numerous state and city projects waiting for funding like roads and bridge repairs; the building of an energy grid that allows us to connect to alternative energy sources
