Poetry: Death

The tombstones glow in the moonlight
There is an eerie feeling in the air
Crosses and statues rise into the night
Markings of who lies there
I walk around looking for you
Because I haven't seen you all year
No one understands the hell I go through
Now that you are not here.

And I wish I could see you
So that I could tell you good-bye
And I wish that I could hold you
And tell you that you would never die.

Now I stand here at your graveside
The tears are flowing down my face
I'm sorry if I ever lied
Here are some roses
I miss your embrace
I had seen you the night before
I did not know it would be the last
I'd give anything for just one more
Our time together faded so fast.

And I need to see you
So that I can tell you good-bye
And I need to hold you
And tell you that you'll never die.
