Perfect ballerina buns

A ballerina needs a tutu, tights, and of course, the perfect ballerina bun. However, making the perfect bun is sometimes easier said than done. By following a few simple steps, you'll be a pro at creating the perfect ballerina bun. As you master the technique, you can create the perfect bun in less than two minutes.

You'll need a few supplies before you get started. Have your supplies within easy reach so you don't have to stop to look for supplies while creating your perfect bun.

- Comb or brush

- Bobby pins for loose hair

- 2 thin ponytail holders

- Hairspray

Now that you have all your supplies together, it's time to create the perfect ballerina bun. If you have a hard time doing your own hair, you may want to recruit someone to assist you.

Step 1: Brush your hair until completely smooth and manageable.

Step 2: Pull hair into a high ponytail. Secure the ponytail with one of the ponytail holders. The ponytail should be near the top of the crown of your head.

Step 3: Carefully twist your ponytail and begin wrapping the twist around the base of the ponytail. You may need to practice this step several times. Be sure to keep the bun tight as you twist.

Step 4: Use the second ponytail holder to secure the bun in place.

Step 5: Use the bobby pins to secure any loose hairs. Try to secure bobby pins so they are not easily seen.

Step 6: Use one hand to shield your eyes and spray your hair with hairspray. Carefully smooth any stray strands of hair into place as you spray. When spraying the bun, only touch the bun if absolutely necessary. One wrong move and you may destroy all your hard work.

Now that you've completed the perfect ballerina bun, it's time to consider jazzing up the style a bit. Many ballerinas decorate their buns with ribbons, lace or large decorative ponytail holders. Check your local department or drug store for decorative hair supplies.

If you decide to decorate your bun, be careful. Also, ribbons or lace should be secured to the bun using bobby pins. Stray pieces of ribbon or lace may distract you while you're dancing if they're not secured.

The ballerina bun isn't just for ballerinas. You can wear a ballerina bun for casual or formal occasions. Buns are also great for sports. Since all hair is secured and away from the face, you can play sports without worrying about brushing hair out of your face. Whether you're a ballerina or not, you can greatly benefit by learning how to make the perfect ballerina bun.
