No matter what your destination or who you are meeting there are some items that are a must in your handbag for a night on the town.
Whether you are out on a date with a favorite male companion, on a first date or on a girls night out, your cell phone is a necessity. There are several reasons for this. Not only does it make you available in case of emergency but it can also save your life. Cell phones have tracking devices that can help people find you if you are not where you are supposed to be. You can also call for help or for a ride home if it becomes necessary.
Credit Card
These days cash is almost a thing of the past. What you need to carry with you is your credit/ATM card. There are very few things that you can do on a night out on the town that won't cost you any money. You want to be able to pay for your expenses and also to be able to pay for a taxi or a bus pass if you need one to get home at the end of your evening. If you are in a parking garage you can use it there to pay for your parking.
Cash
Always carry a small amount of cash and change. If you are driving you may need to feed a parking meter and you will need small bills for a tip.
ID
Always carry a picture ID. Depending on what you are planning to do you may need to prove not only who you are but how old you are. There are places that require a picture DI to accept your credit card as well. If you are driving your picture drivers license is the perfect choice.
Tylenol/Advil
You don't want to anticipate getting a headache on your night on the town but it can happen. It is always wisest to have your own dosage with you rather than taking some from anyone else.
Inhaler
This is only required if you have any breathing issues like asthma.
Feminine product
Talk about bad timing but it can happen at any time even when you want it the least. It is always a good idea to be a Girl Scout and be prepared.
Lip stick or lip gloss
If you are going to be out all evening you are going to have to refresh your lips. Carry a small tube of lip stick or a lip gloss to make sure that you always look just as fresh as when you left home.
Gum or mints
In the unlikely event that you ingest anything that may result in dragon breath it is always wise to have a nice minty gum or mint to freshen up your breath.
Pashmina
There can be so many occasions when you will be grateful that you placed this in your purse. Even in the warm months many places have their air conditioning cranked way too low. With your pashmina you can at least wrap your shoulders from the freezing breeze.
Pen
I can't tell you how many times this has come in handy in my purse and just in case you meet Mr. Right youdo want to be able to give him your phone number.
You have now loaded with your handbag with the necessary items for a great night on the town. How big of a bag you want to carry I leave to your discretion.
