Bi-Polar personality disorder?
Hmmmm, this is a real dilemma. Is it a true disease of the mind; rendering individuals helpless in their episodes of maniacal ranting, rude behavior, vicious acts of random violence, and or a myriad of other behavioral maladies. OR, is it an excuse that some people depend on to get away with this disgusting behavior. Think for a moment of the Dichotomy of good and evil within the human spirit. We have, in ALL of us the ability to be evil and we have within us the ability to be good. Those that control or ignore their urges to act in a manner contrary to the moral and ethical ways of society are in effect keeping the Tiger in the cage. Those that don't are simply less in control of their faculties or more aptly their emotions.
My Grandmother was diagnosed as Bi-polar way back in the fifties before any real established parameters were set forth in prognoses, and she was as sweet as could be. To the Grandchildren, and I have no way of knowing about anything else because my Grandfather will not speak ill of my Grandmother. My Mother has been diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder atleast a half dozen times. Then a Doctor will say it is not Bi-Polar Disorder it is mood swings. Even the same Doctor can't agree with his own Prognoses in the matter. My second wife was an alcoholic, a violent and devious witch when something blocked her path to booze. She was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder and then it was changed to Borderline Simplex. Her symptoms fit the text book case of Borderline Simplex to a "T". They are so close it is nearly impossible to see the difference without years of clinical service and experience and after treating several dozen and quite possibly hundreds of specific case individuals.
As a victim of their behavioral maladies I can say from experience, the look in their eyes is the proof I needed to say Bullshit to the whole line of theories. Their not out of their mind, they may have a chemical imbalance or something of that nature but they are definitely in control of their faculties. The malevolent look in their eyes says to me they are enjoying themselves at someone else's inconvenience. They plot and plan, set up circumstances that are conducive to their needs. Then they act out and blame it on a rare brain disorder. I am no Doctor but I have and still do live with the effects of Bi-Polar or symbiotic twins disorder.
It seems to me that everyone now a days has an excuse for everything they do that is wrong or politically incorrect. BULL ... every person is responsible for their actions every day of their lives. You have the choice of whether you are going to be good or evil. I... just like any other person on Earth have awakened with an angry feeling that is unfounded and has no rhyme nor reason to it. I just choose not to act on the urge to hurt someone else and or cause misery and pain in another's person's life.
I guess I should have added the fact that I agree that there are some people that are truly sick, or truly challenged by this or any other mental disorder. I am not saying that all cases are false, what I am saying is that several, maybe even a predominant number of people that are portaying the symptoms are capitalizing on the system to protect their lack of will power in the matter of acting as a conscientious human being. Point in referrence, I have Asthma and Emphysima. People can't see it therefore it doesn't exist. That is until your lying on the floor with a blue face pleading for help!
