The Makin Raid
(9:15 P.M, Makin Atoll Island shore, Peter Dawson)
Private Peter Dawson silently said a prayer as the beach front approached, when he was finished, he took a look around him, he was in a black motor boat with five other men, all as nervous as him, except the sarge, maybe. As he gazed around, he could not help but notice the beauty of this place, the water was black in the moonlit night sky, slow ripples making their way across the ocean.
Up ahead the shore line was clearly definable, Peter could see the palms shaking in the breeze, the waves dribbleup and down the shore, it was beautiful, undeniably beautiful.
"All right boys," Seargent Tim Reddings whispered sharply, "prepare for landing."
"The first wave has already landed on a shore east of here." added Corporal Nicholas Davis confidently.
But as his friend Private Ryan Law turned his head back to see him, Peter read his read his face and he knew exactly what he was thinking, this place was beautiful, but what horrors lie beyond this scenic seashore.

Oh, great, thought Stephen in somewhat of a cynical tone, this was going to cause alot of pain.
The guard placed his aristika bolt action rifle with the bayonet attachment on the side of the wall and began to walk towards Stephen while rolling up his sleeves. With each step, Stephen kept silent, but his heart was beating faster and faster. And finally the moment arrived, the soldier pulled back his fist, and with brutal intentions, let the fist fly.
The sting took a second to set in, but when it came it was hell. But the pain was not over.
The guard drew his knife, but it was not a wound the guard intended for, he was going for the kill.
Stephen pulled back, hoping to escape his fate, but it was futile, the guard grabbed Stephen's torn collar, and with his life closing, Stephen tried to remember the beginning, but it was blank. The guard was ready to strike, but then out of the blue an explosion rocked the hut.
Someone in the front room was screaming Japanese, this was followed
