Reflections: Truth.
It is said "Those that seek the truth shall find it."
You may travel to distant lands. You may interview Dali Llamas, Priests, Pastors, The Pope, and any other religious figure that you may run across on your world travels in search of "truth." But you will not find it there. Instead, you will find as many answers to that question, "What is the one, true truth?" as the number of those you ask.
You will not find it in meditation. You will not find it in yoga. You will not find it at all until you dare to become serious about your quest.
When you have come full circle in your quest for truth, you will be forced to face it.....or not.
It was there all the time: within your own eyes-in that mirror.
Kahlil Gibran said that the eyes are the mirror of the soul.
Have you the courage to look deeply into your own eyes in the mirror? For it is there-and only there-that you will find the truth.
How? Why?
Because each of us was created with the truth imprinted upon our hearts and souls; just as our DNA determines what color hair and eyes we shall have and how tall we will be.
God did that. And He did it on purpose.
When you stand in front a mirror and stare deeply into your own eyes, be prepared for a shocking experience! You are going to see-and learn-things about yourself that you never knew. And you know this to be true: "You cannot "un-learn" a thing once it has been recorded in your mind."
Once you do this "exercise" you will be forced to deal with your discoveries.
Here is the comfort: if you have been honest with yourself and others you are going to see something unbelievably beautiful within your own eyes. You will be blessed and encouraged with the things you will see.
Here is the warning: if you have spent your life deceiving yourself and others, it will take much courage and will to accept what gazing into your soul in that mirror will reveal.
But where there is life-there is hope.
Before you look into your own soul, make certain that you are alone-completely alone. This is something between God and you-alone. Allow yourself plenty of time to peel away the meaningless layers which life settles upon us. Focus. You will know when you have "gotten through." You will see it-and you will feel it!
Do you seek "The Truth?"
