THE GIFT OF MUSIC
Musical talent is surely a gift, which precious few possess. Perhaps more aspiring artists would practice their abilities, if they had access to suitable musical instruments. On the other hand, many of us have idle instruments collecting dust in our homes or workplaces.
Do you have a cello, clarinet, drum set, flute, oboe, organ, piano, piccolo, tuba, violin or other musical instrument that you no longer use?
Although you might opt to market your outgrown or unused musical instrument, this process can be time consuming. In the end, you may not even recover the cost of your initial purchase.

Most musical charities offer printed receipts for all donations of musical instruments. The recipient organization may provide a letter, listing the estimated value of the item. Otherwise, as a donor, you may be given an opportunity to indicate the fair market value of the donation.
In either case, you gain a helpful tax write-off for the charitable donation of your musical instrument.

Many music education programs have faced budget cuts, as charitable grants and national funding opportunities have been trimmed.
By bestowing your unused musical instrument on a suitable organization, you can be assured that your generosity will reap rich benefits in the life of a real music lover. Who knows?
