The Walrus and the Sea Warlock
In days when sailors sailed the seas
When whales were resting 'neath the waves
a Walrus colored brown and green
dreamed he'd be a man someday
He dreamed of arms and legs and clothes
Human hands, feet, face and nose
To sail a ship where e'er he chose
or where the wind on ocean blows
From out the fog, one wintry day
a ghost ship did appear
She had looked to sail invisible
to all who'd look close to see her
The Walrus perched on rocky shore
listened close to hear the Captain's roar
The eerie pirate screamed for wind and more
to keep the ship from sinking to the ocean floor
The captain dressed in covered black
with shining eyes of red
espied the Walrus on the shore
and called to him instead
"Come join my men, creature of the sea!
Come join my ship and sail with me
I'll take you places, you'll never see
and make you the Man, you want to be!"
The Warlock Captain touched his walrus heart
Could this be his dream come true?
To sail the globe on the legs of Man
as a member of a ghost ship's crew?
The Walrus shook his head and swam away
Even from the wish he'd want
Though he be a Man in all his dreams
A walrus's life is not to haunt
