Aaaaah, saving a little bit of money! The temptation has popped up on your computer screen. An international drug company has just opened a pop-up window, giving you the opportunity to purchase medicines through the internet. This being the first time you have encountered this potential experience, you will have to think this one through.

In my eyes, it is never OK to buy medicines online without a prescription. I am thankful that I have a great relationship with our family physician and do trust him. However, at times it can become very stressful when it comes to having a prescription filled. Just recently, one of my sons was in need of medicine. We left the doctor's office, and headed right on over to the local pharmacy. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would take one whole week to get his prescription filled. The medicine was very expensive, and it was a prescription drug that my son's doctor felt would help him. Due to the fact that the insurance company required mountains of paperwork to fill this prescription, my son would not have his medicine for one whole week.

After experiencing this delay in getting my son's prescription filled ,and the insurance company questioning the integrity of my son's physician; I can totally understand why people would head to the internet to buy prescription drugs. This whole process was very stressful and time consuming. Not only on my part, but on the part of my son's doctor. In my opinion, he could have been helping patients during the time that he had to produce mountains of paperwork! This whole experience was not fun, but I do know that the medicine my son is taking is real and is safe to consume.

We live in a world where we all want things immediately. Prescription drug abuse is on the rise and several people have died to improper uses of these drugs. There is never a time when it would be OK to buy medicines online without a prescription. Our health is something that many of us take for granted. When we need prescription medicines, we must be sure we know what we are taking and the drug has been approved by the Federal Drug Administration. In the United States of America we are fortunate to have legislation in place to protect us from unsafe prescription medicines.

Some may argue that the internet is a safe place to purchase prescription medicines, as drug companies claim to be safe and secure. Many of these suppliers are overseas and face it, you will not know where the drug came from and what it contains. There is never a time to play Russian Roulette with your health. One big mistake by ordering from an "unknown" company online and you may not be around to talk about your purchase. Be wise and know that you are consuming FDA approved drugs, your body will thank you!
