CHRISTMAS GARLANDS AND YOU ONE DOZEN IDEAS
Garlands can be used in your home at any time of year, but most people use them only at Christmastime. I have found twelve Christmas garlands for you to make. The thing I like best about them is they cost little to no money. Many of them smell wonderful. There are several your children can make with you. Use garlands on your tree, banisters, mantels, draped across doorways, entwined in hanging lights, around pictures and mirrors, or lay them on tables. They are great for gift giving!
Enjoy making your own Christmas garland.
POPCORN GARLAND
Materials needed:
Popped popcorn (make enough so you can eat some!)
White thread or thin fishing line
Needle
Scissors
Pop the popcorn.
Do not cut the thread; you will need a lot of thread to make your garland. You can make it in shorter strings or one long one to drape your tree.
Put your needle through the center of the popcorn. You will need to push it down the string because it takes a lot of popcorn and string to make a garland long enough for your entire tree.
When you strung enough popcorn and the garland is long enough to suit you, cut the thread or fishing line and securely tie it.
Drape it on your tree!
*Great family project.
POPCORN AND CRANBERRY GARLAND
Materials needed:
Popped popcorn
Uncooked cranberries
White thread or clear fishing line
Needle
Scissors
Using the same procedure as above, string the popcorn and cranberries in your own design. Maybe one popcorn, one cranberry. Two popcorn, five cranberries. Be creative and have patience.
