Poetry: Without you

by Jason Adams

Created on: December 13, 2008

My sleep has become restless

I wake in the night breathless

My senses remember your essence

My heart lingers on your presence

The smell of your hair, still fresh

The feel of your fingers on my flesh

The hold of your body clinging to mine

Warmed with an energy I can't define

My lips burn as they reminisce

Recalling the passion of your delicate kiss

My arms weep to feel your embrace

My fingers cry to reach for your face

I long for the sensation of when you are near

I crave the taste of your whispers in my ear

Your absence holds such penalty

My dreams hold nothing but your memory

I lay awake and pray desperately

To forever keep my angel next to me
