How music defines who we are

Music has been around from the time man stepped on the earth. Music has a feel good component, and can be used to explore our emotions, and also can be used as a source for healing many suppressed and negative emotions that torment us on a daily basis.

Over the years there has been much hype about the invention of the electric guitar, and with it a different type of music emerged. Hevay metal and rock ' roll are the two main forms of music that emerged from mordern instruments. These types of music are often listened to by teenagers, and young adults. It kinders a rebellious spirit as it is very loud, and not very cultural. he rock stars even have a very distinct style of dressing; savvy in the least.

There are also other forms of music like R & B, opera, classical music and hip hop.

Music can be used to soothe the soul; therefore so many religions have used it to make people more devotionsl, and it does help after sitting for some kind of a service; the mind is more in tune with god. Different religous groups have a different style and type of music. Lots of churches are moving away from the traditional approaches to music , and are using mordern instruments to spread the message of God. This distinct style of music defines who they are as individuals, and also gives the organization a seperate identity. Eastern music is quite often very calm and soothing. Tradional instuments are played like the tabla and harmonium. Satsang is a musical congregation of people, and bhajans are sang.

Music has also been known to help heal the physical body. This is mostly soft and soothing music, like music played from a harp. How often have you felt relaxed and comfortable after a stressful day at the office after listening to some kind of soul searching music? The effects of music are wonderful. People say that too much of a good thing is not good, but music has the total opposite effect.

Powerful love ballats also have quite an emotional effect on people. After painful break up listening to them can help us come to terms with our loss, and heart break. How often have we listened to one and wept uncontrollably just thinking of our lost love? We may not be realizing it, but these ballards often can define our take on love and relationships. They can also help us move forward in life as they deal with many isues, which effects people in life and love.

The pop groups we listen to define who we are as peopel. Different people listen to different artists. Some people like groups in specific era. Philosopical peopel will listen to REM, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Wonderwall. People who are hopeless romantics may listen to Bon Jovi. Different nations and ethnic groups may also prefer certain types of music. Different countries and cultures may have different tunes of music and a certain dance routine.
