Adventure games are those that require exploration, puzzle-solving, interaction, and investigation.

They are simulations of basketball, hockey, soccer, baseball, tennis, and other sports.

SIMULATION

Simulation games are simulations of life. There are dating simulations, military simulations, police simulations, piloting simulations, building simulations, and business simulations.

RACING

Racing is also self-explanatory. They are games in which players race against each other or against computer-controlled A.I.

STRATEGY

Strategy games are games that require players to use critical thinking and strategies. In a sense, they are god in regards to combat.
Players direct units under his or her command to embark on several missions. It can either be real-time or turn-based. These games do envelop several themes like: horror, military, and science-fiction.

These are pretty much the major genres of games. When you examine these genres, you will see that there are game titles for just about anybody. If you are looking for a game, treat it in the same manner as if you were picking a movie to watch or a book to buy.
