Our own bedroom faces the east. In the morning, the sun energy empties into the room through the windows and the sensual moonbeam fills the room at night. Personalized according to unified desires, the bedroom is our nurturing and soothing sanctuary.

However, is your bedroom a healing sanctuary against every day stress? Does your room encourage intimacy? Do you feel happy when you lie back and relax? The following tips based on decorating trends for 2009, although brief, can help you create a sanctuary in your bedroom.

Tips for 2009: How to create a sanctuary in your bedroom

A bedroom should nurture the essentials for rejuvenating body, mind, and soul. With one-third of our lives spent in the bedroom, its healing forces, soothing ambiance, and rejuvenating intimacy are important factors to restore the natural rhythm for physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

The key factor lies in the quality of energy you absorbed while in the bedroom. There is no doubt that modern amenities are convenient, yet, often, are opposing wants to our vital needs. Technology clutter creates Electromagnetic Stress. These items wreak havoc on the immune, nervous, and hormonal systems. If you cannot afford an office space or entertainment area in your home for computer and television, create a cabinet to put in these electronic items when not in use. When you move your business bits and pieces to another room, you also move preoccupation and stress out of your bedroom.

Replace unfriendly synthetics with natural fibers. Natural beauty like organic whole foods, massage, and deep breathing re-balances the body's energy systems. Natural products are the incoming trends in home decorating. They are practical, and they come in many different forms, patterns, colors, made of simple materials.

Lighting is very important in the bedroom. Wall lights can produce romantic pools of soft light. Use dimmers to vary the mood. Create accents like focusing light on a beautiful object.

Colors can have a powerful effect on your state of mind. Decide what feelings you want to encourage, which aspects of your personality you want to highlight, and then choose your color scheme accordingly.

Purple, a mixture of red and blue, is the 2009 decorating color. Purple promotes intuitive and sensitive understanding, creative and mystic ambiance. If your are to use purple, choose muted tones bedding sets with purple accessories of wool, velvet, or cashmere then add a lavender grey throw blanket for that sumptuous touch. These plush textures caress the skin, and enchant the mind.

An array of shams and throw pillows in delicate floral prints and few drops of lavender oil between clean sheets induce relaxation and allow the body to breathe, discharge toxins, and replaces vital energy.

Give intimacy a place to unfold and linger without distraction. For fun, make a love basket of lavender essential oil, and lotions. French Lavender boasts finest scent with the best therapeutic benefits for relaxation. If needed, set the mood for relaxation with smokeless lavender incense.

Make your bed the focal point of the room. A canopy of chalky off-white and dusky heather color combination created over a bed immediately adds drama to a room and instantly creates a serene atmosphere perfect for nurturing healthy passion.

Create a room that works for your stability and harmony, de-clutter. Physical clutter . . . piles of papers, dirty clothes, and half-done projects . . . is one of the most pervasive causes of disharmony in a home. Clutter represents obstacles, and they can make you feel weak and confuse. Keep chaos at bay by leaving your cares outside your door. A relax energy boost immunity and wash away tension. Remember, your bedroom is the last bastion of your privacy, the only sanctuary for your well-being.
