Poetry: Seoul

by Ann Atwood

Created on: December 12, 2008

This is a revision to a poem I wrote earlier

The sun sits high in the sky unseen by me send slivers of light

through the cool canopy of leaves to the forest floor

trying to reach me as I lie on soft lush moss and listen to the rivulets

of sparkling water

carrying their music of splish splash over the rocks towards a river

far unseen to me that will lead to the ocean.

Birds sing in a cacophony of different tunes and pitches

telling one another stay away, come close and frogs croak

while they await early evening to arrive

Nature sings her own song and if you listen carefully you may it

All one needs to do is be aware of her words as we wander

the earth for the short moment we are here
