What better way to celebrate the holiday season than to stimulate your palate with the fragrant flavours and spices of Christmas? I would like to share one of my personal favorites, peppermint hot chocolate.
Peppermint hot chocolate is a wonderful blend of the richness of cocoa and the smooth and sensuous aroma of peppermint. All of this is mixed within the comforting atmosphere of warm milk. To create your own variation on this wonderful holiday treat, you will need the following:
-A large mug
-Powdered cocoa or instant chocolate mix
-Your favorite milk
-A soft-peppermint stick or a candy cane
-A festive ingredient of your choice!
The rest is easy and fun! Warm the milk in the method of your choice (I would recommend using a pot on a stove, as microwaves can affect the taste of the milk.) Now stir-in the powdered cocoa or chocolate mix, and be sure to combine it completely. Now is the taste test! If it is tasty, continue to the next step. If is needs a little something, add some sugar or flavour!
Finally, place the peppermint stick into the drink. Now indulge in more hot-chocolate pleasure than you've ever experienced.
