Here are a few ideas to inspire you in selecting the right gift for the man who has everything.

My wife and I have been recently contemplating on what to get my father for Christmas this year. She and I did some brainstorming, and here is a list of a few the gifts we came up to give to father this holiday season. Hopefully, these ideas for potential gifts will keep your heartfelt Christmas present out of the Salvation Army dumpster this Christmas holiday.

Favorite coffee- Can you smell the aroma of coffee brewing from that special someone's kitchen? My father is an avid coffee drinker, so we purchased him some of his favorite coffee this year. Expendable items that people use regularly are often great gifts for the holidays.

Gift certificates-Purchasing a gift certificate can be a great way to show that special someone who has everything you care. We have purchased my dad a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant for the last two years in a row. Folks, the one thing to remember this holiday season everyone on your Christmas list loves to eat! One thing to remember about gift certificates though is to purchase ones that you know that they will use, this will ensure that the gift certificate will not expire. A fuel cards from Wal-Mart is a great gift certificate idea, and if he or she travels periodically you know the gas card will not go unused.

Special candy- Is you're special someone who has everything a big candy eater, give the one with the sweet tooth a bag of their favorite candy. Candy is a great stocking stuffer! Believe me you can't go wrong with the Chocolate Covered Cherries, or that special someone's favorite candy!

Handmade Christmas card- Many years ago I made a Christmas card for my grandfather. He really loved it. Have your children or grandchildren make a special card for the special one you love. Believe me the recipient of that special card will cherish the gift for the rest of their life. Remember, it is not the price of the gift that counts, but the ideas and love that is put into selecting or making that perfect keepsake. Be creative!

Remember, listen carefully all year long and you will get ideas for the perfect gift for the one you love. Having an open ear is one of the most important factors enabling us to select the perfect Christmas present for the person who has everything. I wish every one of you a merry and joyous holiday season, and remember keep your ears open for selecting gifts for the family member who has everything.
