THE FAMILY IN THE HOOD CHRISTMAS
Ladies and gentleman may I please have your attention?
If your tired of talking to a bunch of hard headed kids all year round, If your fed up with house hopping year after year looking at the same people get drunk(uncle lewis), Aunt Bertha coming out the closet for the 5th time in a row, Having to bail out squart and his brother peanut for arm robbery, or if your fed up with finding your great-grand mothers teeth in the fruit cake than I suggest you head for the hills this year and create a new tradtion!
First, when it comes to the children and if your in a financial crunch there are community services and churches that'll adopt a family. Which means, that if you place your families name on the (salvation army lists) then if your family is chosen then they should have somethings on that day to open. Those, are lists that you should get on at the beginning of the year that way there won't be such a hassel or you won't feel crunched towards the end of the year. Maybe, your kids were good then I would set asside an account that would have at least 20 dollars in it per check and added into through out the year until that day if your lucky enough to do that. Have, the kids work for their gifts through out the year as they keep their grades up and do chores. However, if those things arn't done all year round then folks tough love is the cure.
Now, if your worried about dinner traditional dinners can place you in the poor house if your not careful. So, limit the amount of food that you prepare and sit at the dinner table creating tradition. Then, after dinner taken in a movie, of course the dollar show is just as good as being a big spender since funds are tight. Come on, it's about creating tradition and something that the children will remember that is done in the family. The best thing also about cutting back on the food is that the there will be less guilt because your clothes will still fit. As, the kids get older that's a tradtion that all must adjust their plans so that the year of the family will take place.(getting together and go bowling, etc) Now, the coolest thing is going around the area looking at the christmas lights especially when the masions are decked out.! Place that christmas music c.d and drive on looking at what you can see. However with the cost of living and gas your best bet is to catch "It's, a Wonderful Life and call it a day.
You, could go back and sit around the table and think back to the beginning of the year and reflect on how the year has been and set goals so that the year going forward could be different reminding ourselves and our young that the true definition of Christmas is love.
