The only way to survive the 2008 financial meltdown is to save your money. We are living in uncertain times right now. People are losing their jobs and homes. The government has given out billions of dollars to bail out financial giants and institutions. It is obvious that they are not going to rescue the average person. If you want to make it out of this slow down, you will have to be your own best friend. Save your money and create other ways to accumulate it. That is they key. Money has to be produced.
I'm currently doing that. It has been hard for me to find a job, so I decided to make my own job. I do freelance writing and babysit on the side. It is just a start but it helps. Every dime counts. I save my money meticulously. Wasteful spending is not an option and I collect pennies. It helps that I've been this way for a long time, but the way things are now just brings it out even more. When I see my mother stressed out over whether or not she will have a job, it makes me upset. She has been working in the schools for over 20 years and she's worried she will be laid off. It is a frightening situation. Job security seems like a distant memory. Those days are over.
I choose to be proactive instead of reactive. It is easy to get flustered, but this is not the time. It is the time to think of a way to cope with the market. I start to think about my natural skills and how I can turn them into a money machine. It has helped. Writing on Helium has helped me accumulate some income. I'm very happy. My next task will be my voice. The point is, do something in the meantime. You get creative when you don't know where your next dollar is coming from. It makes you appreciate the smalls pennies you get. For me it has opened my eyes in so many ways. I constantly search for opportunities to make extra money. I ask around and make phone calls. When I do get something, I commit to it because I see that things are tough. It has been a learning and humbling experience.
Overall, in this recession it is the time to be your own best asset. You must be the strongest person on your team. Make it happen. If things are not moving, you move. You change. You take control of the current situation by making an opportunity. Be aggressive. Don't settle for anything. Go for the top. Be a victor not a victim. This is how you survive the 2008 financial meltdown. Make a way if their isn't one.
