Have you ever had both your Internet connection and your cable television connection turned off for ten entire days? Due to a power outage, your cable TV and Internet went out for a few hours, right? Possibly your Internet was turned off due to the inability to pay, but once you made the payments they unenthusiastically flipped the magic switch and brought back your electronic existence. But did you ever have a company turn off both your cable TV and the Internet for over a week due to work they were doing?
If the big Internet companies that believe they own the entire world have ever done this to you, then you know exactly what I mean. They took our Internet and cable television away for ten entire days. Everyone in our home utilizes the Internet and cable television every day, and some of us for many hours. I use the Internet to write and post my articles on various websites where I make some extra money.
If you have ever lost your cable TV for several hours due to the company working on it, or the electricity going out, you know exactly what I mean. You get your household chores done, you go for a walk, and you pick up a book and read. But when an Internet-cable television company turns off your very resources for entertainment, and livelihood, it gets personal. You are losing money in the process.
Other than thinking of alternate things to do, it's like going back to the pioneering days before we had the Internet. You would have to call a friend or send a message through snail mail, hoping to get a reply back in a week. But after setting up your very livelihood, you can't just wander around your home or office, when you realize you are losing money. Then you realize that major businesses near your home could be losing hundreds if not thousands of dollars due to the Internet Company deciding to put in new cable.
You leave your comfortable home, or your office in search of an accessible Internet band that works. You go to a local coffee house with your laptop in hand, and buy coffee or tea all day and work in a realm of strangeness. You find it hard to concentrate in a public place with foreign noises pelting your ears.
You wonder if your Internet connection will be turned on again.
And now you have discovered what your forefathers did before the Internet and cable were invented, they went to bed
