The Willful Destruction of the American Family

I shall focus on the decline of a society, and not waste time debating the semantics of

the word Narcissism.

The Fifties saw the birth of the, I, me, me, my generation, following World War Two!

Priorities of the previous generations had been Family and then the acquisition of the

monetary means to take care of Family. As the economy improved, the Me generation

wanted more freedom and less responsibility. Too complicate matters, Women's Lib,

Perpetuated the notion, that women can have it all, a Family and a vocation. This may-

be so, but one may succeed and one will suffer!

The priorities are now, the acquisition of money, first and foremost, and then the

Family. Family day care increased and love and attention decreased. Attention is the

name of the game here! You see, the more positive attention a child receives, from

day one to age five or six, the more secure a child is, and with security the child is able

to obtain confidence! Confidence knows no bounds! Without confidence, most people

limit themselves. You are as good as you think your and no better.

We have truly created an insecure society! The repercussions of an insecure society

are quite evident. The constant strive for attention has resulted in murder. Rest assure,

people are out there killing for attention, joining gangs for attention, hacking computers

for attention, and the list goes on. Common courtesy has all but disappeared. It is not

uncommon to see insecure morons, on the road, traveling in the passing lane, which is

illegal in every State that I know of, except the state of confusion! Not using blinkers has

become the norm. God bless the self-absorbed, for they expect it. It's an us against them,

mentality, as opposed to the reality that we are all in this together. The great American Wimp

has been created. Angry little Boys and Girls that may never grow up. They have the gall to

carry a cell phone into a theater or restaurant,and could care less about annoying anyone else.

This represents a society so needy they are incapable of giving. Is it such a surprise that 56%

of this society's marriages end in divorce? Over defensive and insecure people are just too

hard to live with! It's no wonder, people are growing up over eating, trying to fill the void where

love and attention are missing. This scenario is not limited to the good old U.S. of A. There has

been a steamrolling westernization of the World in progress for years. Japan has a divce that when

used, in a theater, can stop all transmission's in or out. Now why would Japan, who was know as the

epitome of courtesy and not wanting to offend anyone or dishonor their family, need such a device?

There priorities have changed and westernization is growing. Two parents working because the grass

always looks greener on the other side! Family planning is necessary for positive change!
