In a world full of turmoil and stress your bedroom is a place you can go to shut it all out and recharge your physical and emotional batteries. Your bedroom is your sanctuary, your private space and there are ways to create an even more relaxing environment that will soothe any world weary soul. Simple changes in your bedroom can ease you into that space you so need. Setting the mood is the first step toward bedroom nirvana.
Warm lighting can set the tone for relaxation and comfort. Track lighting with dimmer switches can be helpful in adjusting the amount of light you desire. An aquarium in the room can also add a mellow ambiance and visual attraction. Proper window dressing such as adjustable blinds helps regulate the daytime lighting. In the evenings scented candles can be lit to further achieve a warm, soothing mood for your bedroom sanctuary.A reading light close to your bed adds to convenience while relaxing with a good book.
A soft color scheme will balance the lighting and add to the cozy feel of the room. Whether the walls are painted or papered the warmth of the space will come out with the right texture and color. The fabrics you choose for your bedroom furniture should reflect the flavor of the walls surrounding them. The textures are equally important. Satins, soft cottons will not only make you more comfortable in your bed but also more pleasing to the eyes when your not. Houseplants like ferns and ivy's add to the overall effect and add more depth to the room.
Of course, the bed you sleep in should be one that is absolutely comfortable to you.The quality and quantity of your restful sleep depend on it. A balanced stereo system preferably with speakers in four corners of the room make a difference while listening to relaxing music while you unwind from a stressful day. If they are connected to your television it is a definate plus.
A few changes can make a major difference in the mood and feel of your bedroom sanctuary. A relaxing and cozy environment will reward you in many ways for years to come.
