Welcome to the new world of "online dating".This is brought to us via the miracle of the world wide web.The "www" as it is called these days gives one access to the collective consciousness of everyone on the planet who has access to a computer.This wellspring of data has now become a tool for the lonely hearts who,for various reasons,have trouble interacting with each other in the "real" world.The objective of this article is to give you some tips and some advice about online dating.

First of all, make sure your computer is protected.Yes, you may encounter certain individuals or websites where your computer can be infected by a virus.So, even before you meet your dream date, you can get an infection if you're not careful.There are several different anti-virus softwares out there, as well as anti-spyware, which would be a good idea to have before you even begin "shopping for a mate".

Now that your personal data is protected, you may browse the internet for the dating service which best fits your needs.Most of them allow you to post a photo or even a video with sound.You can select your sexual preference,age limits,race,hair color, eye color, height weight, body type(tall blonde,green eyes,slender figure with sensuous curves desired)and then a personality profile which asks a multitude of questions which the dating service sifts through and finds several matches according to the information you have provided to them.

Here is where one must become most wary.Chat with your computer selected mates and see how that goes.If you find yourself attracted,then you may want to meet them in person somewhere.NEVER go alone!Always bring a friend who can be there to watch your back.Meet them in a public place with lots of people around.If you don't like them for whatever reason, feel free to disconect and bail out.This goes back to the online sessions-make sure you do not give out any personal information like an address or telephone number, or where you work.All of this is trying to warn you that there are psychos out there, and you need to be very careful.

On the bright side,I have a friend who met a woman online through a dating service and met her, and they eventually married!Therefore,it is not always a bad or dangerous scenario,but I still urge caution.Sometimes you may meet and have a great time together, and may go out for several dates together before deciding to look elsewhere.Or, worst case scenario,you meet and find each other impossibly
