Drastically cut your junk mail using the simple tips below. The next time you order via mail, inform the company to keep your address private. Ask them to not rent it out. Do this by calling them, or writing your wishes as a statement on the order form. You can also ask them to not send you any promotional offers.
To stop credit card junk mail, call 1-888-567-8688. If you prefer to go online to opt out of credit card offers, go to "Opt Out Prescreens" website, see Resources below. Select their "Click Here to Opt-In or Opt-Out" button; then select the "Electronic Opt-Out for Five Years" option. Provide your information on the page that comes up, then click on the "confirm" button. Read the statement, right next to that button, to make sure you're making the right selection.
Use Postal Service Form 1500 to block sexually explicit junk mail from getting to you. You decide what mail fits this category; the postmaster can't reject your definition. So, you could point to the people posing in a catalog, and say they're "sexually" posing. The post office will have to accept your explanation, and honor your request.
Go to DMA Choice's website, see resources below; to filter your junk mail. Click on their "Get Started" tab; then fill out your contact information. Click "Submit" to create your profile. You'll need a profile to adjust what junk mail to cut or receive. This website also allows you to remove deceased residents, and your dependants, from mailing lists. This option shows up as a hyperlink on the same page you create your profile at. Click those links, fill the forms out, and then click "Submit." Going through DMA choice's website spares you the postage and processing fees involved with stopping junk mail via regular mail.
If you prefer to cut your junk mail via snail mail, go to DMA choice, click the "get started," tab, go down to where it says, "Register by Mail," then click the "download the registration form" hyperlink. Print the form, fill it out; and then submit it to the following address: DMAchoice; Direct Marketing Association; PO Box 643; Carmel, NY 10512. You must include a check or money order for $1.00 for each of these forms that you mail.
These will cut the number of junk mail you get, but you'll still receive some unwanted mail. For the mail that remains; open the envelope and check their contact information. Call their number and ask them to remove you from their mailing list.
Want to cut Email Junk Mail? Use DMA's Email Preference Service, or eMPS. Go to DMA Choice's website and click on the "Register for eMPS" hyperlink. Type your Email addresses in the fill in boxes, then click "Submit."
