Danbury, CT is a great place to visit at any time of the year, but the spring is a particularly nice time to explore this city. The milder temperatures which come in the spring months make it a pleasant occasion to see what the region has to offer.

One of the wonderful things about western Connecticut is the fact it is full of many places you can go to enjoy some outdoor activities. The landscape is beautiful and the perfect landscape for family activity, a day out with friends, a date or even to explore alone.

Candlewood Lake is a terrific place you can visit to indulge in the typical spring kinds of activities. Candlewood Lake is a place you can walk, hike, jog, picnic, boat, fish and more. Squantz Pond is another excellent location located just a few miles outside of Danbury where you can partake in many of these great outdoor activities as well. Springtime is the perfect time to explore what the area lakes and parks have to offer.

Golfing is another popular activity in the Danbury, CT region. There are two golf courses located in Danbury proper, but there are dozens of other courses in the region if you're looking to get off the beaten path. Since Danbury is located near the New York border there are many terrific golf courses just over the state line.

If the weather is a little chilly or it happens to rain during your stay in Danbury, there is still plenty to do. In fact, Danbury has some of the best shopping in New England. Many people from eastern New York regularly hop on Interstate 84 and head over to the Danbury Fair Mall and the many other terrific strip malls and stand alone shopping centers which are located throughout the city.

Shopping in Danbury in the spring is particularly nice because the temperatures are warmer and this makes it easier to navigate from one shopping area to the next. The mall area has the best shopping, but if you head over to Federal Road there is tons of shopping on that strip as well.

Danbury Railway Museum is a fantastic place to stop during your visit. This museum is a wonderful place to visit at any given time of the year, but visiting in the spring is a special time because the Easter Bunny comes to town and pays a visit for several days.

The kids can take a special train ride through the museums rail yard and then head on over to visit the Easter Bunny in his railcar. There are lots of other activities going on during this time for the kids to enjoy. Admission for is $8.00 for ages 2 and up and the activities are included with the admission price.

Danbury, CT is a great place to visit whether you're passing through or planning to stay a couple of days. There is a lot to see and do in Danbury and this city is real convenient to get to because of its proximity to several major highways, railroad and even a small airport. When I lived in New York I used to frequently travel over the border to visit all that Danbury has to offer.
