Monday Morning
Monday morning, the alarm clock....no beep
Just what I don't need....to oversleep
All because of my ball of fur with claws
who walked across the alarm button on her four little paws.
Monday morning, the lint brush simply can't be found.
No one will wonder if I have a cat around.
Her hair clings to everything I own.
She thinks my closet is her private home.
Monday morning, oh my aching head,
I have to hurry, my cat must be fed.
No time for breakfast, not even coffee for me.
Where did I see that cat playing with my keys?
Monday morning, forget, go back to bed.
Soon my cat will settle at the top of my head.
Snuggled together, there we will stay,
things will have to start out better on Tuesday.
