Remember Me
I sit in stunned silence as the words are uttered. Emptiness floods my head as disbelief engulfs me. Tears, stark and angry fall like rain down my now ashen face.
My first thought is..... "Will you remember me? Will you remember how I looked and felt before.....? Will you remember the love we shared when life was better?
Will you remember me as I was? Will you still remember when I start to fade? Can you remember as you stare at the rapidly declining form that was me?"
Again the tears fall... fall like torrential rain, Fall fierce and determined like a waterfall after a storm, They fall like runner...trying to outrun that dreaded phrase......
